Leeds Festival 2012.

My friend is moving to university soon, so this year a few of us got together and went to Leeds Festival. It was like one of the last chances for us all to properly get together and do something fun, so we bought the tickets right when they came out and even got the early bird.
Another more personal reason that I went was to see The Cure. The Cure are my favourite band and I simply cannot get enough of them. I have liked them since about 2010 now and I think I'm quite lucky to say that I have now seen them twice in 2 years.
I would defiantly say that The Cure where my favourite, then Paramore and then Band of Skulls.

My biggest worries for Leeds Festival where the weather, the mud, the general atmosphere and the toilets. However, once arriving my mind changed. It wasn't that muddy, you didn't really need wellies. The toilets weren't bad because they always had the general necessities, it barely rained and everyone was friendly!
We stayed in Purple camp, right on the border of orange and we had absolutely no hassle at all. We didn't make friends with anyone around us, but we knew that we weren't under attack by them. Some lovely people even offered to help my friend out when she had hurt her arm. Everyone was just lovely.

The tickets we got meant that we where there Thursday to Monday morning, but I ended up leaving on Sunday Evening. My reason for this was because I was absolutely totally drained to the max. I'd had a bit of a funny week with not really having an appetite, and then the camping part of the trip started to make my body sore. I didn't particularly want to leave that little bit early but I knew it was for the best.
What really gutted me though was that it started to really get at me when it was Saturday. Saturday I had literally stood up for nearly 6 hours watching bands, and when it came to The Cure encore I just couldn't hack it. I was and still are absolutely devastated that I left at that time, but I know for a fact that if I had stayed I would have collapsed.
But overall Leeds Festival was an experience and I probably would go again. Maybe this time though I would get a day ticket or not the early bird, and I would also take a pillow and an airbed.

I've posted a photo of the clothes which I also took, just for you little fashion nebs! And the other photos are from the Leeds Festival facebook page.
